The Fil-Am Golf Association of South Florida was officially formed by a group of
former tennis aficionados and old backed bowlers on June 5, 2004. This group is well known as the "Paluwagan
Group" who are composed of middle-aged men in their 40's.
It was one typical Filipino gathering in Coral Springs where these men thought of changing their
old beloved sports into Golf. Since age is slowly approaching their youth, they decided to change the heavy bowling
ball which pained their shoulders and throw their tennis rackets that pained their trembling knees into a more relaxing
sport called "Golf." From thereon, they became addicted to Golf and made their wives golf widows.
